Our mission is to "Expand the public appreciation of railroads and their history through preservation and education."

You will help us meet the goals and objectives of our mission by making a tax-deductible donation to the Washington, D.C. Chapter NRHS. Gifts of any size can help us continue existing programs or start new ones. You may designate your gift for a specific project or let the Chapter use it where it is most needed. In addition to monetary donations, the Chapter also frequently accepts donations of physical property such as real-estate, rail-equipment, railroadiana, model train collections, books, etc. The Chapter can also be named as a beneficiary in your will.

Besides ongoing restoration projects on the DOVER HARBOR and our REA Baggage Cars and our educational programs such as trips and RAILCAMP , we are currently searching for permanent home in the Washington Metropolitan Area for the Chapter and its rail equipment in. This need will play a vital role in determining our future.

The Washington, D. C. Chapter NRHS is a charitable organization recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Donations to the Washington, D.C. Chapter NRHS are tax-deductible to the maximum extent allowed by the Internal Revenue Code. The Chapter is also a registered non-profit organization in the states of Maryland and Virginia.

The Washington, D.C. Chapter Inc., National Railway Historical Society is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Contributions are deductible to the maximum extent allowed by the Internal Revenue Code. The Chapter is also a registered charitable organization in Maryland and Virginia. In Maryland a copy of the current financial statement is available upon request at the above contact and information submitted under Business Registration Article Section 6 is available for the cost of copies and postage from the Secretary of State, Annapolis, MD 21401. In Virginia a copy of the financial statement is available upon written request sent to the Office of Consumer Affairs, P.O. Box 1163, Richmond, VA 23218.
