In 1999, DCNRHS sponsored a reproduction of the
classic Indian Tree pattern china used on Pullman
railroad cars. This reproduction was made by
Syracuse China, one of the original manufacturers.
Based on the original designs and artwork from the
Syracuse China archives, the reproduction was very
well regarded in the railroad heritage community.
Today, the reproduction china is enjoyed by many of
the passengers on DCNRHS’ Pullman car, Dover
Harbor.
The reproduction was very popular and the
production run was limited. Once DCNRHS sold out,
no further china was produced. DCNRHS continues to
receive inquiries periodically on the availability of the
china and whether the Chapter would consider
sponsoring another production run. Recently,
DCNRHS has acquired four pieces of our reproduction
Indian Tree china from a couple of antique stores. For
those who may be interested, we are offering these
pieces for sale in a sealed bid/blind auction to run over
the next six weeks. This is a reserve price auction,
which is open to DCNRHS members as well as the
general public. Proceeds generated from this auction
will benefit DCNRHS, a 501c(3) non-profit
organization. Photos and descriptions of each piece up
for auction are on page 2 of the attached flier, and the
auction rules are on page 1. Please review the rules
carefully--- and good luck with your bidding! All bids must be received by October 15th. |
