A Beautiful Day for The Joint Picnic With Potomac Chapter

Saturday, September 25th DCNRHS hosted our annual picnic with a special guest, the members of the Potomac Chapter NRHS.   The picnic featured a beautiful sunny day next to Amtrak's Northeast Corridor, at the Huntington Railroad Museum in Bowie, MD.  Besides being the home to DCNRHS' railroad library (www.railroadlibrary.org) the location has a railroad switch tower, a freight house with a new railroad display funded by an NRHS Grant, and an Norfolk & Western Caboose.   Best of all Amtrak put on a show of Acelas, long-distance, and Northeast Regional Trains.  The museum is operated by the City of Bowie, MD.

About 55 people were in attendance for our annual summer get together.
