The Collinsville Inn, DCNRHS' 1949 Budd Coach, was for a time in regular service on the Southeast Michigan Transportation Authority's short-lived commuter rail system in the mid-1980s. During that time the authority gave the car a new paint job and a new name, Hazel Park. We recently came into possession of a photo of the car in its SEMTA Livery. Even more interesting, at the time this photo was taken the car had already been transferred for use on the Metro North Railroad. The photo shows the car in September 1984 in Poughkeepsie, NY. Note the Metro North logo is already applied to the car, although the livery is otherwise what it wore during its time in Michigan! Thanks to the J. M. Laboda Collection for providing us this photo. It's a beauty! Coincidentally Collinsville Inn was the original car name; MARC restored the name when it rebuilt the car in 1994.
