Member Recognition and Awards

The following awards are used to recognize members for contributions to the Chapter and the NRHS:
Bent Spike Awards
The Bent Spike Award(s) is awarded annually by the President to members who have "Bent over Backwards" to serve the Chapter in an exceptional way. The award is of a railroad spike bent into a "U" shape and mounted on a wood plaque with an engraved plate describing the individual's contribution(s) to the Chapter.
Membership Pins
Our parent organization, the NRHS, recognizes members who have been with the NRHS for periods of 25 and 50 continuous years with membership pins.
Service Certificates
Each year the President recognizes with a certificate each member that has volunteered time or provided some special talent or services in the last year.

Membership Requirements

We're an extremely member friendly pain-free organization. What we enjoy the most of all is having fun!  However, as with any organization our members are of course required to pay dues and abide by our by-laws and Chapter policies as well as those of our parent organization, the  NRHS. Paying your dues is the most important and most difficult thing you are required to do; the rest is as easy as falling off a log.

If you however would like a copy of the Chapter's by-laws, please contact our Secretary.  A copy of the NRHS' by-laws can be obtained by contacting the National Railway Historical Society.
