Benefits of Membership

There are many benefits to being a member of DCNRHS. Included in your annual membership fees are:

  1. Subscription to Chapter's newsletter The Timetable, the official monthly publication of the DCNRHS
  2. Membership in our parent organization, the NRHS.
  3. Subscription to the NRHS' national publication, the National Railway Bulletin.
  4. Subscription to the NRHS' bi-monthly publication The NRHS News.
  5. First-priority/advance notification for many DCNRHS trips, tours, events, and excursions.
  6. Discounts on selected DCNRHS trips, tours, events, and excursions.
  7. Discounts on DCNRHS sponsored DOVER HARBOR trips.
  8. Many more .....
Most importantly, you will get the opportunity to meet, socialize, and work with other people who are also interested in railroads and their history. DCNRHS has members from all walks of life. Membership  provides a chance to learn and have fun at the same time. If you like doing things hands on, there are lots of opportunities to serve on committees or to organize trips. As a member, you will have voting priviledges that help shape the future of our organization. Your participation in activities and elections will have a direct impact on the success of our programs.
 
MEMBERSHIP DUES: Individual/Regular Membership in DCNRHS is just $4.00 per year if you elect to receive the newsletter via the Internet.  If you elect to receive it via the Internet and via U.S. Mail, membership is $25.00 per year.   You must concurrently already hold a membership in the NRHS or join through DCNRHS (we make it easy).   NRHS Membership is an additional $36.00 per year for adults, $5.00 per year for Youths (ages 5 - 12), and $16.00 per year for students (ages 13 - 18).
 
DCNRHS is family friendly. A family member is defined as a spouse, children who are your dependents, or other individual living in the same household as you. Family members may also join DCNRHS for just $4.00 per year.  They too must join the NRHS or already be a member, but can do so as aalso joint NRHS as an adder to your membership fee for just $4.00 per year.
 
 We also allow organizations (corporations, museums, libraries, etc) to join DCNRHS at the same rate structure and same benefits as an Individual/Regular member.
