May 13 trips, available  see option 3 below

Sprint to Manhattan for a Spring getaway aboard Dover Harbor, classic 1930’s Pullman sleeper-lounge railroad car.  Enjoy the comfortable, elegant surroundings and attentive service of our stewards, as if you were traveling first class in the golden age of passenger trains.

After a mid-afternoon departure from Washington Union Station sit back, relax, and dine with an early supper as our Amtrak train carries us north along Amtrak’s high-speed Northeast Corridor to an evening arrival in the Big Apple.  Enjoy several days in New York: see Broadway shows; shop at Macy’s, Bloomingdales, or Sak’s; sightsee at the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Bldg., or Times Square, and revel in the “City that Never Sleeps.”  Or, see weekend’s big rail event-- the grand Parade of Trains-- hosted by Metro-North to celebrate the 100th birthday of the fabulous Grand Central Terminal (Dover Harbor will participate; contact Metro-North for details).       Stay overnight in a hotel of your own choosing (not included) until our return trip departs Penn Station southward at late morning on Monday. Reminisce about your big city adventures over lunch as our train travels across the meadows of New Jersey, rolls through Philadelphia, and sails across the Susquehanna River to Baltimore and a mid-afternoon return to Washington, DC.
