Grand Parade of Trolleys Tour

Friday June 27 to Saturday June 28, 2014




Join the Washington, D.C. Chapter, NRHS for a two day one-night trip to Pittsburgh to experience Trolley Mania! Learn about the area’s modern light rail and historic trolleys on this escorted tour which includes:

▪ Specially arranged tour on Friday afternoon of Allegheny Port Authority South Hills Rail Center maintenance facility, not normally open to the public;

▪ Ride on the modern ‘T’ light rail line from South Hills through Mt. Washington Tunnel to Station Square;

▪ Friday evening Gateway Clipper Dinner Cruise on the Ohio, Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers with fantastic views of Pittsburgh’s downtown;

Overnight lodging at the Marriott Springhill Suites Hotel, Washington PA, including breakfast;

▪ A full day at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum’s Annual Parade of Trolleys, where every operable historic trolley will be operating, with plenty of rides!

Round trip motor coach transportation to all of the above departing from and returning to McLean Presbyterian in Northern Virginia and the Shady Grove Metro Station (detailed information and schedule will be provided with your tour confirmation).

CONDITIONS

1. No refund  or credit after April 27, 2014, other than by operator's cancellation of the trip or reselling of the space. Reservations are not transferable and may not be resold without the consent of the operator.

2. The Washington DC Chapter NRHS makes every effort to accommodate the physically challenged; please notify the reservations agent of your needs.  This package includes a tour of an active shop facility which is not open to the public and all areas may not be accessible; tour participants must be able to stand for duration of the tour, and transit over uneven gravel, hard surfaces and rails. Trolleys at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum are historic vehicles and may not accessible. Operator requires those physically challenged individuals requiring special assistance to be accompanied by someone who is able to assist them.

4. All participants must be dressed appropriately, wearing closed, hard soled shoes (no flip flops, sandals, open or athletic shoes or high heels permitted).  Participants not properly dressed will be denied entrance, and no refund will be provided.

5. Children above age 12 are welcome on this tour, however each child must be supervised by an accompanying adult.  There is no separate child’s fare.

6. The General Conditions for tours, trips, excursions and events as published on the DCNRHS web site (www.dcnrhs.org) apply.  By making a reservation, participants agree to be bound by both the General and these specific Conditions.
